Client Overview
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, our client focuses primarily on property and casualty insurance. They offer specialty commercial products for businesses as well as traditional fixed and fixed-indexed annuities in the retail, financial institutions, and education markets.
The Challenge
Being a leader in the insurance industry means innovating your internal processes to facilitate organic growth. Knowing this, our client took a look at their existing underwriting and policy administration systems. Doing so, they noticed several bottlenecks that needed immediate attention within their case management system, IBM Case Manager.
Realizing they were not using the full capabilities of IBM Case Manager, they also saw it was highly customized, leading to maintenance issues. To make things worse, their document viewer was incapable of loading and viewing large documents; Users were unable to split a document into two or merge documents together.
Altogether, these issues were causing serious delays for our client. Our client decided to partner with Pyramid Solutions because of our experience working with IBM Case Manager with the benefit that they had their own add-on tool, Pyramid eXpeditor, which among having a split-and-merge feature, would add capabilities to enhance IBM Case Manager.
Our Innovative Solution
We kicked off the project by assessing the client’s IBM Case Manager configurations. We decided to first attack the customization issues that were holding the client back and then enhanced IBM Case Manager with Pyramid eXpeditor.

- High-speed viewer
- Free form notepad
