Client Overview

For more than 110 years, our client has been building meaningful relationships with their customers, employees and surrounding communities. They offer a broad variety of life insurance, retirement annuities, accident and health insurance, pension plan products and services, credit and property & casualty insurance for personal lines, agribusiness and commercial businesses.

The Challenge

Providing consistent payouts to customers is important to any claims department. But doing so is easier said than done. Our client’s payouts were inconsistent and on top of that, they had limited to no visibility into their process due to their current capture system, InputAccel, which lacked accuracy in its natural language processing capabilities.

To address this issue, the client sought a vendor to help them find a new capture system to fulfill their goals to improve their claims process visibility and payouts. 

Our Innovative Solution

After assessing and fully understanding our client’s needs and challenges, our team knew IBM Datacap Insight Edition was exactly what the client needed.

We built a workflow that allowed our client to automatically:

  • Capture and ingest all claims documentation
  • Perform file separation
  • Enable document OCR
  • Execute classification
  • Carry out manual document indexing

Having these features as part of the workflow allowed our client to leverage IBM Datacap’s capabilities to the fullest extent. 

Additionally, as IBM Datacap was new to our client, we also provided training and mentoring services to ensure employees were comfortable with the new environment and did not slow down everyday business operations.

As a result of the IBM Datacap implementation, our client saw many benefits including meeting their service level agreements from intake to completion, increased consistency across claims approval and amounts as well as a reduction in processing costs.
