Pyramid Solutions is announcing upcoming changes to licensing support for specific legacy versions of the following products:
- EIPScan EtherNet/IP Scanner Simulator Tool – version 2.4.x and earlier
- EIPScan-SECURE EtherNet/IP Scanner Simulator Tool – version 2.4.x and earlier
- EDITT EtherNet/IP Device Interoperability Testing Tool – version 1.25.x and earlier
This notice applies only to the legacy versions listed above and should not be interpreted as an End-of-Life (EOL) announcement for either product. Current versions of EIPScan and EDITT remain available and supported.
Important: This announcement does not affect the operation of currently licensed and installed copies of EIPScan or EDITT. It applies only to future license activation, reinstallation, recovery, and related licensing support for the legacy versions identified in this notice.
Customers currently using affected versions are encouraged to evaluate their options before the EOS date to avoid potential disruption should license recovery, reinstallation, or migration be required in the future.
Existing Installations Will Continue to Function
Customers currently using a legacy version of EIPScan or EDITT may continue using the software on systems where it is already installed and licensed.
This policy does not disable existing installations and does not prevent continued use of the software.
However, after the EOS date, Pyramid Solutions will no longer provide assistance with:
- New license activations
- License reinstallation or reactivation
- License transfers to another PC or user
- License recovery following hardware replacement, operating system changes, or system failures
- Other licensing-related support for legacy versions
Customers who lose access to a legacy installation for any reason after the EOS date should expect that the software license may not be recoverable.
Supported Versions
The following versions remain supported:

Customers using supported versions may continue to activate, manage, transfer, and reinstall their licenses using the available licensing infrastructure.
Technical support and access to product updates are included for the first 12 months following purchase. Access to updates and technical support may be optionally extended on an annual basis, and multiple years may be purchased in advance at discounted rates.
Customers with access to updates may download the latest available product version by logging in to the Pyramid Solutions Account Portal.

Available Options for Legacy Users
Customers using legacy versions are encouraged to evaluate reinstating access to updates and support in order to obtain a current supported release.
Current releases of EIPScan and EDITT utilize a modern licensing system that significantly simplifies software deployment and license management. Benefits include:

- Simplified license reinstallation and recovery
- Easy migration to replacement PCs
- Improved management of licensed users
- Reduced administrative effort when hardware or operating systems change

Unlike some legacy versions, current releases utilize a modern licensing system that significantly reduces the need for manual licensing assistance. In most cases, license activation, recovery, reinstallation, and transfers can be completed without contacting Pyramid Solutions, allowing users to get up and running more quickly and with less administrative effort.
For customers operating in restricted, isolated, or offline environments, Pyramid Solutions can also provide offline license activation options for supported product versions.
In addition to ongoing support eligibility, reinstating access to updates and support provides access to the latest available release, product enhancements, usability improvements, and any new releases made available during the update period.
Customers evaluating EIPScan may also wish to consider EIPScan-SECURE, which extends EIPScan with support for testing and validation of EtherNet/IP CIP Security implementations.

Pyramid Solutions offers discounted pricing for many existing customers. In recent years, the cost of new EIPScan licenses, update renewals, update reinstatement, and access to current releases has been significantly reduced.
