Manufacturing in America (MiA) 2016 is coming up on March 23rd and 24th and it’s going to be a whirlwind. With over 2,500 manufacturing executives, engineers and enthusiasts predicted to attend, 100 technical learning seminars and 50 exhibits, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Here is some information to put you at ease and ensure you enjoy your time – both at and outside the conference:

1. First things first, make sure you register and bring business cards!

2. Plan your agenda with the MiA agenda builder app so you don’t miss any of the great sessions – available in IOS and Android.

3. Where to park? There are a lot of parking lots close to Ford Field. Your best option is the Ford Field Parking Garage on the east side of St. Antoine – it’s free of charge and in an ideal location. Here’s a map of additional lots close by. If you’re staying outside of the city or want to enjoy the Detroit nightlife, consider downloading the Uber or Lyft apps.

4. Looking for a great place to eat? Here are some restaurants we recommend that are walking distance from Ford Field when you’re ready for a lunch break or dinner.

    • PizzaPapalis – The best Chicago-style pizza on the other side of Lake Michigan.
    • Detroit Beer Company – Watch the brewing process from your table and choose between seven-nine fresh house brews that change daily.
    • Slows Bar Bq – A gourmet spin on barbecue and 56 beers on tap.
    • MotorCity – Their “Assembly Line Buffet” is award-winning and features all-you-can-eat food ranging from sushi to choice-cut meats, for $30.

5. If you find yourself needing a break from manufacturing speak by the end of the day, here are some events going on.

Easy to say, no matter what seminars you attend at the conference or places you go after, you’re going to have a great time. Our manufacturing team is excited to share knowledge, industry expertise and the latest Pyramid innovations. Stop by booth 112 to say hi and enter a drawing to win a free Amazon Echo.
