Fortune 500 P&C Insurer Moves Seamlessly to New Content Management System

Client Overview

A P&C insurance company that has experienced steady growth for nearly 100 years. Today, the mutual company is a group of five property and casualty companies as well as one life/health/annuity insurer. With nearly 6,200 agencies employing 37,000 agents, the insurer grew to be a Fortune 500 company.

The Challenge

Trouble began when the insurer realized its content management system (CMS), ImageRight, was no longer suitable to maintain the growing amount of content and work needed to be performed. The CMS would frequently crash for hours or days at a time, which had an adverse impact on customer service. 

With slow productivity and bad customer experiences, our client had enough of the ImageRight platform and looked into a new robust content management system. With Pyramid Solutions proven expertise in content management systems, our client chose us to take on the project. 


Our Innovative Solution

We started off by performing a walk-through of the P&C insurer’s claims process to develop an appropriate content management approach. From this assessment, we determined IBM Case Manager would be a great fit and demonstrated how the application specifically addressed their needs and pain points; IBM Case Manager was ideal as it had its own repository, FileNet P8. and document capture environment, IBM Datacap.  

As part of the installation process, we configured and developed custom components for the client’s claims and underwriting processes, which included a Guidewire integration with FileNet P8 for content enablement.

After the install was complete, we migrated and converted all content from the old ImageRight system and made sure the insurer was comfortable with the new environment, by providing hands-on training. 

Overall the client was very happy with the experience, especially with the result of the a single-user interface for working with Guidewire and content. Now our client has an environment that not only they can depend on, but also has more features and functionality than their last one. Additionally, we’ve continually helped grow the solution with additional enhancements and updates over time.
