Ohio Tax Agency Automates Tax Processing System
Client Overview
Our client is a leading income tax collection agency who services over 300 Ohio cities and villages. Since 1971, they have been serving taxpayers and local governments, and specialize in handling municipal income tax collection and enforcement efforts.
The Challenge
To process taxes, our client used IBM FileNet Capture to ingest and export documents into an Image Services content repository. The application was very heavily customized, built with various technologies and specially-purposed components, which was causing headaches for many of the employees. The system itself required employees to have to manually index each document they received. Not only was this a very tedious effort, but it was also prone to human errors, causing interruptions within the processing of taxes.
Aiming to have quicker processing times, the tax agency knew this wouldn’t work long term. They decided to seek assistance to help modernize and improve their current system.
