Controlling & Monitoring a Frac Truck Application

Application: Frac Trucks use a diesel engine driven high pressure pumping system to perform the fracking operation (pumping fluid into the ground) that releases previously inaccessible natural gas and oil.
Problem: Operators are looking for a way to monitor and control the pumping system diesel engine and transmission via a standard Automation Controller (PLC) as opposed to manual operation or wired analog control.
Solution: BridgeWay J1939 gateways allow a standard PLC that supports EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU to receive J1939 data for monitoring purposes and to send messages onto the J1939 network to perform control operations, such as adjusting the engine speed and shifting the transmission during the fracking operation.
